standard queen room i stayed at was good basic and reasonably large with 2 beds. a microwave oven, coffee & tea makers, and a fridge were nice. the pool was clean and the staff was superfriendly and outstandingly accommodating.

We requested a king size bed but got 2 queen beds, asked to be placed in a king bed for the next 2 nights but that didn't happen even after 2 additional requests! If you promise something one would expect you to follow through with a promise! Not what I expected from this type of hotel.

The beds were indeed very comfortable. The room was a nice size. There was no noise or inconsiderate guests to bother us. The breakfast was good. The lobby area is nice, especially the 24 hour coffee!

My elderly parents were going to check in late, so I stopped by in the afternoon to just check to make sure all was okay. Desk clerk answered her cell phone then gave me a curt answer. Then when they did check-in, the room's a/c didn't work. The desk clerk was trying her best, but when I inquired why it was taking so long to move them to a different room she accused me of "bum-rushing" her and threatened to make me leave. WHAT? Clearly, she was in way over her head...and I give her the benefit of the doubt. But that response is clearly uncalled for. Other encounters with other staff went very well. But, their room was never cleaned nor beds made although new towels were left during their four-night stay. So, keep expectations neutral...if they are high you will be seriously disappointed.

THE BATHTUB DRAIN WAS NOT PROPERLY WORKING

I asked for a non-smoking room and got a smoking room. Then a male housekeeper just walked in to deliver towels without knocking.

Staff was very friendly as well as helpful. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Pool area was nice. My 16 yr old and her 3 friends enjoyed themselves.

Room smelled of fresh smoke at check in. Carpets were filthy. Old food and pieces of candy were left behind nightstand. Bathroom required maid services the bathtub was not adequately cleaned.

I greatly enjoyed good basic room in this hotel.

The location of the hotel was exceptionally nice and absolutely perfect - just a short stroll away from a private school.

No refrigerator in room, tiny closet, not enough usable drawers - fake drawers in bureau!! Building is in an area with endless vacant properties - seemed very remote.

the staff here were really helpful, and I loved that it was just a short walk to the beautiful maplewood park and rose garden, making my city strolls even better.

Facility is a great location right off highway. The price was well worth it and included breakfast. There was an error with our room when we checked in. The staff handled it immediately and upgraded us to a bigger room. Overall, good price, good location & a nice staff.

The breakfast was a just okay. Nothing terrible but I have had better at other Holiday Inns.

We found the area to be be kind of run down. Not the hotel, the area. Also if there was a place to get a beer inside the hotel that would have made things a little better and given us something to do.
